KPB Strengthens the Spirit of Ramadan Through Social Care and Aid for the Community

Saturday, 14 March 2026

In the spirit of sharing during the holy month of Ramadan, PT Kilang Pertamina Balikpapan (KPB) once again held the “Energizing New Fitrah” event as part of the “Energizing Our Iman” program series, which this year carries the theme “Energy to Move Forward with Hope.” The event, held at the New Site Office (NSO) of PT KPB on Tuesday (March 10), featured a religious talk, a communal iftar, and the distribution of aid to social welfare institutions and the community as a manifestation of the company’s concern for its surroundings.

During this year’s Ramadan, PT KPB distributed aid totaling Rp 49 million to 7 Child Welfare Institutions (LKSA) and the Foundation for People with Disabilities. This assistance was provided as a form of support and solidarity so that orphans and people with disabilities could also experience joy in welcoming Eid al-Fitr.

PT KPB’s Director of Operations, Arafat Bayu Nugroho, stated that the Ramadan activities carried out are not merely internal company initiatives but also serve as a means to strengthen social responsibility toward communities in the vicinity of the company’s operational areas.

“Through the various Ramadan activities we organize, ranging from distributing iftar meals to providing aid to orphans and the surrounding community, we aim to ensure that Pertamina’s presence not only supplies energy to the nation but also brings benefits and happiness to the communities near our operational sites. This is an expression of our gratitude and care for the community that has consistently prayed for and supported the journey of the Pertamina Balikpapan Refinery,” said Arafat.

In addition to the distribution of aid, the “Energizing New Fitrah” event also featured a religious talk and collective prayer led by Dai Witomo Mushtofa Nabil. In his sermon, he conveyed a message that the Ramadan season should serve as a reminder to strengthen faith, increase compassion for others, and foster a spirit of working with sincerity and responsibility.

Vice President (VP) of Legal & Relations at PT KPB, Asep Sulaeman, added that this event is part of the company’s commitment to fostering a sense of togetherness while strengthening a culture of sharing within the workplace.

“This ‘Energizing Our Iman’ event serves not only as a means to strengthen employees’ spirituality but also to deepen our sense of togetherness and foster a spirit of sharing with others. We hope the values of goodness cultivated through this event will continue to be a positive force for all PT KPB employees as they strive to make their best contributions to the company, the community, and the nation,” said Asep.

Through this initiative, PT KPB hopes that the spirit of Ramadan will continue to serve as a driving force to bring broader benefits—not only within the company but also to the surrounding community—in line with KPB’s role in supporting the operational sustainability of the refinery and national energy security.
